A Conversation with Nick Howland and Tom McManus

We were honored to host a thoughtful and engaging conversation with City Council President Nick Howland and 1010 XL radio host Tom McManus, who provided valuable insights into the future of Jacksonville and the opportunities ahead for our community. From the Jaguars and the continued vision for downtown Jacksonville to important developments at Cecil Field, we explored topics that will have a significant impact on Northeast Florida—including the potential for Cecil Field to play a major role in redefining our region’s position in the space industry.

We also had an important conversation about affordable housing and the need to create opportunities that allow Jacksonville to continue growing while remaining a great place to live, work, and raise a family. These discussions are particularly meaningful to our industry as mortgage professionals, and we appreciate everyone who contributed to such a productive exchange.

And, of course, we cannot forget Nick, who gave everyone a memorable trip down memory lane by bringing back Tom McManus’s famous “Carpet Man” and LVP flooring jingle! It was a great reminder that while our industry is serious about business and community, there is always room for a little fun and fellowship.

The event was a wonderful example of what The League of Mortgage Professionals is all about: bringing people together to learn, connect, give back, and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of our community.
